take me away
Alleviate my suffering Clean away my sins Crack open the shell that I live in and show me the luminescence of life For I can't love nicely I can't live kindly So take me away To a place that is not here And when we get there If we get there Please cover my eyes and let me walk off by myself.
Influenced by many sources, but mostly inspired from CLAMP's CLOVER, if you recognise it. This is a very recent poem, written in the later part of 2003. I include it in my list of selected poems mostly because it's new, but it has a raw feeling to it, like it's not really finished yet. I like how the mood kind of changes through the poem: gentle and pleading, and then self-depreciating, then asking, almost begging, lastly a calmer, more determined tone. I don't know, maybe I'm being too pretentious, but these are the feelings I experience when I read the poem.
